In May 2004 Gordons merged with Leeds law firm Nelson & Co., a good quality, solid firm and a well-regarded player in the quality regional mid-market. The merged firm, based in Leeds and Bradford, has over 120 lawyers and represents a wide range of businesses from SMEs through to large limited and publicly quoted companies and national charitable organisations. The firm is widely acknowledged as representing many of the region’s most wealthy individuals.

Following the merger, Gordons is now one of the largest law firms based entirely in Yorkshire. Gordons aim is to provide clients with the quality and skills associated with the largest firms, coupled with personal service, and competitive prices. This blend of quality work and personable approach is serving the firm well.

The most high profile deal of the year for the firm was its work for Wm Morrison Supermarkets Plc on the much-publicised merger with rival supermarket group Safeway, where it has handled a whole range of corporate, commercial property, employment, regulatory and litigation work on behalf of the Bradford-based retailer.
